What Is Atocha Protocol (ATO)?
Atocha Protocol is a specific usage blockchain that is built on Substrate and hosted on Octopus Network (a sidechain on Near Protocol). In short, Atocha is a puzzle game blockchain that is built for creating, solving, and sponsoring puzzle games. The protocol is aiming to become a global puzzle game hub that can host multiple great puzzle game Dapps that we are familiar with like Word Puzzles, Number Games, Treasure Hunting, and Social Deduction Game. Started by a team of puzzle game enthusiasts, the project has gained recognition by winning the Octopus Star Prize with $50,000 grant and is also a proud recipient of Near Foundation grant worth $50,000.
ATO is the native utility token that is used for:
* Fees for processing transactions and storing data.
* Sponsoring and receiving of puzzle rewards.
* Incentive reward for good behavior from Create and Solve puzzles through redeeming via Atocha Points
* Used for governance votes to determine how network resources are allocated.
Atocha tools enable functions like:
Creating puzzle by submitting title, description in text, images, URL links which will then be recorded on chain
Sponsoring puzzle by locking ATO on the preferred puzzle game with the capability to add in text and URL which is a part of a marketing tool
Challenging puzzle which has disputable answer
Future functions like NFT minting, integrating puzzle mechanism with multiple metaverses, cross-chain treasure hunting
How Many ATO Coins Are There in Circulation?
Atocha Protocol launched its mainnet on May 27, 2022 with 80 million ATO coins created at genesis. 15% of additional supply is issued each year to support the network as epoch rewards, of which 66.7% goes to puzzle game community(10% total) and 33.3% to the Validator on Octopus Network mainnet (5% total). The portion of puzzle game community reward will be reduced based on the community consensus.
