SavePlanetEarth (SPE) is a global environmental initiative founded in April 2021 that collaborates with governments and non-governmental organizations to address climate change and promote environmental sustainability via it's proprietary carbon credit standard, the Planetary Carbon Standard (PCS), and the SavePlanetEarth Carbon Credit Marketplace (SPECCM). On April 9th, 2021, they launched the $SPE token.
## **What is the $SPE Token's Use Case?**
$SPE is the native utility token which is used for transacting carbon credits on the SPECCM. For each carbon credit both onboarded and sold on the marketplace, there is an $SPE utility fee which is used as follows:
• 60% is burned, effectively creating a deflationary aspect to the token
• 30% goes to $SPE staking pool rewards
• 10% goes to Limited Edition Carbon Credit NFT (LECCNFT) holders

## **What are the current tokenomics of $SPE?**
$SPE is deflationary, there's no mint function, and $SPE is burned with every carbon credit onboarded and bought on the SPECCM marketplace.
**As of December 29th, 2023, $SPE tokenomics are as follows:**

Locked Team Tokens: 120,000,000 vested monthly for 10 years starting January 1st, 2024, at 1,000,000 $SPE/month
Locked tokens for staking pool: 80,000,000 vested monthly for 12 years, starting January 1st, 2024, at 555,555.555 $SPE/month.
Circulating Supply: 387,383,660
There is an adjustable buy and sell tax with a 10.0% cap coded into the token's smart contract. Currently the buy tax is 2.5% and the sell tax is 10.0%. Proceeds from these taxes automatically go to strengthening liquidity and the staking pool.
